Coins tell us stories untold
of war, famine, and heroic men of old,
who worshipped their kings, and did acts of bold,
no wonder they were cast in gold.
They tell us stories, sad and sweet,
of woman weeping at lovers' feet;
of mighty man and conquered foe,
though riddled with unkind woe.
Though heroes come and go, these coins are eternal,
of founding fathers and maternal;
woman who bore the seed,
of men who did even greater deeds.
