Kould u tell me about my histori

525 years ago, where was I?
I may not have been alive
But my blood had not died
I don't know who I am
But I could hear the sighs
And the cries
From below
And my eyes scan the sea
The waves high and above birds fly
And the blue waters are calling me
Will the world accept what I have defied?
Will I deny
My blood
To multiply
Or will I continue on
Terrified
Living tied
Not knowing if I will live
Or If I'll die

235 years ago, where was I?
The bright sun hits me like home
But home was long ago
I am all alone
Nowhere nearby is anyone I know
Family, is something I have to make on my own
If only the world cared about my woes
I have to harvest
The sugarcane, the cotton, and the indigo
Nevermind in no shadow
I've broken all my bones
I have nothing, not a thing, no
When nighttime comes, I crouch down low
To go and meet some people I know
The people and I are thinking
Of a new tomorrow

In the smoke
I can smell a sweet burning
I'll burn what I have to
And fight my way through
I'll do what I have to
To start anew

The fight has not been easy
I've been drowned
And I've been killed
My children have been put in the ground
In shallow water, the blood of my people spilled
The dogs, in flesh-eating, they are skilled
They won't stop
Until their intent is fulfilled
Alive or not
Boiled, eaten, grilled
But to stop, we cannot

In prison, I lie
And I have barely survived
Cold, far away from home
I have lived
I will die
But these roots
Will still thrive

We have nothing to lose
Its freedom or death
If we don't have freedom
We have nothing left

We are free
So that way let it be
Those atrocities
Were our reality
But now that misery has fled
Go ahead and lead

What is the price of freedom?
And what is the price of me?
Will I take on the fee
Or will the fee take on me?

Where was I 111 years ago?
It's hard to tell
I do not know
Am I food for the crows?
Of me, will they take photos?
I can only listen
To the conch shell's past echoes

I've made sacrifices
For my children
I will not pass down old vices
You'll know when it's time to leave
When you see there is more that you can achieve
Even if you have to grieve
Every bird has the fly and flee
Make a new nest in a new tree
And the sticks, and the grass
They become harder to weave
There is no time to rest
But at the end of it all
I hope I given it my best

And I'm in the snow
And I'm in the cold
I'm far away from home
Imprisoned in this dome

Will I ever see those faces?
And will the sun ever again
Leave its traces
On me

Sun, have you abandoned me?

But maybe that was never truly
Me

Gold
Rubber
I could have been another
Oil
Diamonds
The Cocoa and Spice islands
Indigo blue
Who is who?

I can't help but think
That I
Am you

Is there a past me that
I am talking to?
Is there more for me?
Who can feel my blues
Who know that all of it is true
Someone who knows what I went through
100, 200, 300, 400
Years from now
Is there someone
Listening to me somehow?

Reading, writing,
speaking, fighting

Living, breathing
Dreaming, healing

Could you sit with me
And tell me about myself?
What it means to own
Oneself?

If you are my
And I am you
Is there anybody
That I need to talk to

Love and fear
Born out of what
I have to hear

The dream of a dream
Of a dream's dream
What have I seen?
