A New Kind of Literary Pulse

What better way to connect with fellow students from around the globe than through writing? To hear thousands of voices in all their glorious diversity and to give your creativity the platform it deserves?

Starting September 28th, Short Édition invites students from all participating universities to submit their short stories of 7,500 characters or less for our annual inter-university contest, the Long Story Short Award 2026.

This year there will be a theme chosen for the contest which will be unveiled at the contest launch on September 28th.

Through this contest, whether you win a prize or not, your work will be published online alongside those of fellow students from campuses worldwide, creating a bridge between thousands of students around the world. In addition, Short Édition will be considering all submissions for international publication in their 500+ Dispensers worldwide.

Submissions open on September 28th at 09:00 a.m. EST and close on November 1st at 11:59 p.m. EST.

All submitted works will be published on the contest webpage on November 2nd. The public will be invited to participate in the selection of the public winner by voting for their favorite story from November 2nd through November 22nd. During this time, the editorial team will select one jury’s winner and one jury’s coup de cœur (jury's favorite).

The winners will be announced on December 2nd!
