New Age

I do not use the pen to write
I'm am not so skilled,
what I use instead is much more harsh
and many it has killed,

My finger does not shape the words
nor ink impress them,
but the words are made of code
where they cannot be burned,

What I use is modern and new,
the screen shines on me in an unnatural hew,
flowers I cannot press
in the pages I address

What I use is harsh and cold-
not for the forgiving soul.
So poets must choose
to be Harsh or to be Kind

There is no room for both,
some say there is no room for either,
but I like to believe
that the way it is written does not change the words

But simply make them able to reach further
