New Year, Same Goal!

What better way to connect with fellow students from around the globe than through writing? To hear thousands of voices in all their glorious diversity and to give your creativity the platform it deserves?

Starting September 28th, Short Édition invites students from all participating universities to submit their short stories of 7,500 characters or less for our annual inter-university contest, the Long Story Short Award 2026.

To participate, students are invited to imagine a story based on the theme:

"Trading places"

Chaussures - LSSA 2026
Autre temps - LSSA 2026

Step into another life!
Trade places, swap identities, cross boundaries of time, space, or circumstance. Wake up in a different body, a different era, or a different destiny. Whether you exchange fortunes, perspectives, or entire worlds, explore what unfolds when everything shifts.

What might you discover if you lived someone else’s life—even for a moment?

Let your imagination lead the way. The story is yours to shape.

By participating in this contest, your work will be published online alongside submissions from students across the globe, creating a vibrant bridge between voices and cultures. In addition, all entries will be considered by Short Édition for potential international publication in their network of over 500 Short Story Dispensers worldwide.

Submissions open on September 28th at 09:00 a.m. EST and close on November 1st at 11:59 p.m. EST.
