Where is the future?

History of an infinite idea
Record of the expansive mind
Now an era of submerged thought
Where sanity simply unbinds

Isolated from the community
Disconnected from the world
Chasing a sense of purpose
Through civil flaws unfurled

Stirring in the present
With no scope of a future certain
Facing hidden mirrors
Meant to mask ancestral burden

Wading through the darkness
Extending towards the light
Propelled by a deepened hope
That the day will break the night
