A Divided Country

Black and white
red and blue
right, left
don't forget who's who

yelling, screaming
lies, deception
someone tell me
when there's a connection

work together,
not apart
we have one Earth, one life
let's start

grab my hand,
don't be scared
we will fight this together
amidst our fears

I see the light
we are almost there
follow the path
and arrive with care

wear a mask
"we want to be free"
we can if we all agree

End the division
join hands,
hearts,
minds.
We are experiencing this together
so let's enjoy our lives.

without hate
without fighting
without lying
stop crying.

I will when the division ends
and our country's heart mends.
