Here we go!
It's that time of year again... Time to put your beach towel and sunscreen away, and get back to work... However, getting back in class doesn't mean all the fun has to stop! This semester, UT Arlington Libraries invites all students and faculty to participate in a creative writing contest from August 28th to November 3rd.
Interested to find out more?
The theme of this contest is:
"It all started with a misunderstanding..."
Whether your story is about a mad scientist and an experiment gone wrong, or whether you decide to write about a miscommunication between two friends, let your imagination run and feel free to explore the never-ending possibilities of what happens when it all begins with a misunderstanding...
Contemporary fiction, romance, science-fiction, mystery... we're open to fictional short stories of all genres!
Submissions must be short stories of less than 8,000 characters, spaces included.
The Details
Submissions will open on August 26th at 12:00 a.m. and close on November 3rd at 11:59 p.m.
The UTA Editorial Team will select 15 finalists while the highest amount of community votes (aka, you guys!) will designate 5 public finalists.
All 20 finalists will be announced on November 18th. During the following two weeks, the final jury will then select one winner and two runners-up, and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite stories during this time to participate in the selection of a public winner.
