I Want

To soak –
in bathtub, in dish soap.
To marinate.
Remember –
one must be tender
before cooking.
To coax the flesh out
with coo, with whisper,
to unfold the curves once
so carefully
cornered.
To stretch,
underbelly.
To not be stale bread.
