The Letter From Hogwarts

“Why am I not a wizard?”
“Why would you want to be a wizard?”
“I don’t know. Maybe Wingardium Leviosa my problems away forever? That would be so much easier than facing them alone with my dumbness.”
“Hah. Yeah, that’s nice! What else, tho?”
“Ah yes, I know what I want to do. Imma make a love potion for that girl I like. I’m too pathetic to actually get anyone, you know?”
“You shouldn't be underestimating yourself. You know you can be better than that.”
“No, I can’t.”
“Yes, you totally can.”
“Well, I mean I can still use Lumos to brighten my devastating future.”
“Stop it! You don’t need magic at all.”
“Or Alohomora to easily open the doors that life shut on me every time I tried doing something new.”
“No...”
“Oooooh and I wonder which animal would my Patronus be, probably a chicken since I am the biggest coward in the world! Haha!”
“Can you please stop?”
“Still, if I could ever summon a Patronus, my good memories wouldn’t have been sucked away already, right?”
“...”
“And I wish my Dad had gifted me an Invisible Cloak so people wouldn’t be able to look at my ugliness.”
“...”
“And I wish Dumbledore had left me a Resurrection Stone so I could see my mom whenever I want.”
“...”
“Or, yeah, I had a better idea, maybe I could just Obliviate my dad so I can reunite with my mom and he wouldn’t be grieving for the rest of his life, and there would be a ‘happily ever after’.”
“Please...”
“That’s it! Everything would have been better if an owl banged into my window with a letter from Hogwarts, with Hagrid rushing into my room announcing that I am a freaking wizard...”
“...please...”
“...am I right?”
“...”
“And...”
“CAN YOU JUST SHUT UP ALREADY!”
“...”
“How dare you? When are you going to stop seeing yourself as a failure but a true miracle? When are you going to realize that you can open any door in this world? When are you going to realize that no one can ever be prettier than you? When are you going to see that you are always the bravest person you have ever known? When are you going to realize that your parents love you with all their hearts and souls, and imagine how your mom would feel seeing you like this? When are you going to realize that you are the only one who can narrate your very own story? When...?”
“...”
“...”

“I... don’t... know... What am I even doing here all alone? Ah yes, the sky is full of stars today. I should probably get back to Dad soon."
