Shores of Life

As I walk down the shore, I seem to leave more and more,
Footprints in the sand; useless, tho’ I try hard as I can.
The rain clouds storm and fly, and when they come by and by,
The waves of life crash day to day, washing all my prints away.

Put your mark right over mine, so I can see a clearer line,
Of where to go and what to do, so that I may follow You.
Wash my mistakes till they’re gone, and don’t make me wait too long,
For Your supernatural cleanliness, I would feel Your caress.

Leave and impression, oh Lord, on me,
Mold my life, as you meant it to be,
Work in my life, come and stay,
Use me, oh Lord, I pray.
