Brunch Crunch

Each weekend lets us think, begin
To let each person settle in.
The newspaper is thick and thin.

At brunch, the pages crunch; we learn
About the world at every turn.
Homework awaits; shall we begin?

But there is so much news to read.
The sports pages consumed with greed.
The newspaper is thick and thin.

While chewing, reading, passing time,
We find our world is free, sublime.
But homework waits; shall we begin?

The headline says the ice caps melt.
Eat more and loosen up our belt.
The newspaper is thick and thin.

Next week some quizzes will take place.
A science test makes all hearts race.
Homework awaits; shall we begin?

Our mind a muscle? If that’s so
Each class and course can help us grow.
A newspaper is thick and thin.

As time is managed, so we know
That all good things must come and go.
Homework awaits; shall we begin?

But gentle brunch is calm and fine.
We love our time to sit and dine.
At brunch we crunch through thick and thin.

Next week, we’ll brunch again, for sure.
Good work and play. We will endure.
The newspaper is thick and thin.
Homework awaits; shall we begin?
